So don't buy if you are looking to make your own hmd. Wasted money on vorpx, and I'm a little upset that in previous forum posts he mentioned DIY rift and head tracking so it is misleading.

Real shame because I was building 1080p model of my own. Its unfortunate because He started this as a program for DIY projects but my guess is oculus paid him off to support the rift only. Nope, won't even work without rift hooked up. The per PC license works for business, it doesn't work for the consumer market.Įdit: Well I just got a license. If it's affordable and easy to use people will buy it. If you make it inconvenient for people to buy, people will pirate it. That's still annoying, but much less so that 1 key ever. Of course that would require an online activation system.

It's "install on one PC at a time" rather than linked to the PC you install it on. People hate that enough with Microsoft Office, but with office you can sell your license if you choose. I still think the one PC rule is crazy though. I just wasn't sure how that would work or whether it would be a completely arbitrary "I guess I'll make this version 2".īut if version 1 lasts until the consumer version I'll be more than happy. In most packages that do this they normally overhaul everything they were doing and completely redesign the look and feel or add large new features. I also don't know what/how version 2 will vary compared to version 1. The only problem I had was not knowing how soon it will move to the next version and whether bug support will remain for older versions (up to a point of course).
